Still on JAMAICAN time...

So forgive me as I am still on Jamaican time...

The Goddess Getaway was the trip of a lifetime, just like everyone told me it would be. When the time came to depart Montego Bay, the universe didn't want us to leave paradise. After a 2 hour delay in boarding and even taxing, there was a problem with the engine and our flight was cancelled.

So, Jet Blue set us up at the Hilton, all inclusive, just another day in paradise, well two actually. We didn't get out till Monday...

Sooooo, I have been insanely busy the 2 weeks since! Team Meeting, Better Business Workshop, parties, Goddess Advisory Board and yes, WRITING!!!

Just when there seems to be an end in sight, I found something exciting!

My husband John, a U.S. Navy veteran was invited to a complimentary dinner in observance of Veteran's Day at this new place in town called the Tuscan Kitchen. As soon as we walked up, I could see it. THIS is where I want to have my book release party! We dined downstairs and when I asked about the function, a nice young man brought us upstairs (which was still being finished). Let's just say, it took my breath away! I saw the table, the banner, the ice sculpture, EVERYTHING in it's place for the big day! My vision was handed to me, I just need to finish my part. To top it all off with whip cream and a cherry, there is a wine bar and an outdoor fireplace!!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE, so much so I am considering pushing the launch date back so that we can enjoy the outdoor fireplace...

Is that wrong?

3rd time's a charm...

Today is October 18th, my second self-impossed book deadline.

I almost made it, too.

While it seemed I was in the home stretch the last time I blogged, Friday proved to derail my plans.

To make a long story short, my husband John was suffering from a severe headache so we came into the ER Friday morning. All his blood tests & cultures came back negative, but with no relief of his headache, they wanted to test for meningitis which requires a spinal tap. Well, one of the side effects of the spinal tap is a severe spinal headache, and since that is what he has been showing textbook signs of, they are pretty sure that's what it is. I won't bore you with any more medical stuff than I can explain, but he feels fine while laying down, if he stands up, severe headache.

So I've pretty much been here everyday. This being day 4 I brought my laptop, since there is wifi in the hospital :-) and will try to catch up on some writing. Although trying to work on the masturbation chapter has been amusing with nurses interrupting me...

So I don't have a new deadline yet, I am just going to get through today and go from there...

One step closer...

So, this has taken so much longer than anticipated, but I don't care because I am having fun! We are still on target for a Spring 2011 release, which is good, since I would hate to disappoint all of my loyal followers and friends!

Let us not forget, this is one of my busiest seasons for parties AND I am off to JAMAICA for te Goddess getaway in just 9 days! I will continue to write at every opportunity, as well as do parties right up until the night before we leave.

I haven't written any articles for awhile either, which is interesting, because I have been reading so many lately. I do not want to write weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly just because I am scheduled too. I write when I feel I have something to share.

So my super wicked awesome and super talented friend Tia Buono Kelley (sorry it will take me awhile to get used to that) and I finally sat down and layed out the final deisgn for the COVER! That's right, who would have thought it would have taken so long to choose the font! Once we placed the photos, it all came to life!!!

BUT, I am not going to share it just yet. It is about 97% done, there are a few more stars that need to align, and when that happens, I will post it on the book's Facebook page.

I haven't blasted the fan page yet for the same reason. I wanted to wait till I had the cover, so I set it up as a placeholder and people have been liking it...COOL!

So, one more thing checked off the list, and several more on the way!

How the hell is it October already?

The days and months are just zipping by and, once again. my self-impossed deadline is lurking. I have 12 days to finish the book, 17 before the Goddess Getaway to JAMAICA!

Things have been moving along. My wicked awesome BFF is designig the cover. We wrapped up the Sexy Photo Contest voting for what pics people want to see in the book, and it is almost finished and ready for proof-reading my awesome team of "friends who volunteered to proof read"!

All in all it has been an awesome experience. Athena's has been on fire during this time as well! Our latest video for October just goes to show what a talented & creative team we have at the helm!

WOW, What a week it has been! Well 3 weeks actually...

Three weeks ago President, Founder & Mother Goddess of Athena's Home Novelties, Jennifer Jolicoeur announced on her facebook page that she had been invited to have a booth in the gifting suite at the EMMY's! The next day, she called and asked me if I was up for another adventure...

Athena's is going HOLLYWOOD at the Emmys!

That's right, I have been invited to Hollywood to collect celebrity bras at the Emmy Awards this weekend!

Jennifer Jolicoeur & the Athena's Cup will have a booth in the gifting suite where celebrities come in and collect their swag bags the day before the actual event!

We are bringing 80 bras with us for celebrities to autograph. We will be taking our own photographer and videographer to capture the event, get celebrities to autograph the bras, hold them up and say on film "I support the Athena's Cup and YOU SHOULD TOO!" We will also ask the celebrities to "Tweet" about the Athena's Cup on their Twitter accounts. This could potentially lead to millions of people being exposed to our cause!

We have confirmation that TMZ, E! and Entertainment Tonight will be walking the gift suite. We are holding the vision of getting their attention too!

This is very exciting stuff! I don't watch that much TV since I left the telecom world, but I have been googling like crazy! I am hoping to meet Edie Falco, nominee for Best Acctress in a comedy series for "Nurse Jackie". She is also a breast cancer survivor.

Announcement

Back in April, a fellow dreamer inspired me to put a stake in the ground. I set the intention and made today, August 12, 2010, my target date to complete my book. I know you are all wondering, so here’s what I have to say about today:

1. Happy Birthday Tara! I am so glad you were born and that the universe brought me you to dream big with!
2. I am not finished.

The last few days this has made me a little sad, but I will not let it overshadow all the good things I have experienced in my life recently. I will not make excuses for why I am not done; no one wants to hear excuses. Instead, I will enjoy this day and look ahead to setting new goals tomorrow…

The book will be done, and you will all know when.

22 days to finish

So, a few months back, a fellow dream coach inspired me to put a stake in the ground when I talked about finishing my book. The plan was to finish one chapter a month staring in January. Though I have fallen a little behind that goal, I am still committed to finishing it in 22 days. Sam Horn reminds us to, "Get it written, then get it right". I have a dedicated team that will be editing, as well as another team that will help choose the finalists for the photo contest.

Once the first draft in complete, we will be working on Video blogging that process, so that's exciting!

There are only 10 days left for the Sexy Photo Contest and while I have received TONS of great photos, I am still hoping to get more. Everyone has a different idea of they consider to be sexy, so I want to see as much diversity as possible. Either way, we are full steam ahead. Next step will be to determine the release date. This already may be pushed back due to another book launch in early 2011, but don't worry, you'll know it's coming...

What's your book about?

When I was a kid, I didn't dream of growing up and selling sex toys for a living. I really did not think what started as a hobby would lead me to Marcia Wieder, America's Dream Coach™ and the inspiration to share experience as a sex educator, and then to right a book about it.

My mom called me tonight and asked, "What's this book you're writing about?"

Well, Sex is NOT a dirty word. That is what it's about and the message I try to convey at my parties, and hopefully in this book. Sex is a toppic that should be discussed without shame or embarressment, yet is still is, even in the 21st century. 7 ways to get comfortable with your sexuality...with or without a partner.

Summer Stuff and Sex

WOW, 2010 is already half over! It has been very busy around here talking and writing about sex and and running the 2010 Sexy Photo Contest!

That's right, I am looking for sexy photos to be featured in the book! I know what I consider sexy, but there us unity in diversity and I want to capture that perception. Many have asked me what I am looking for, just send em to me! We will let the fans vote! So get out your camera and send me some sexy photos! I am wide open to YOUR creativity; just think sexy, erotic, sensual, tasteful.

Facebook has already deleted a few of my faves, which sucks, but is OK. Just keep sending them to photos@jeniferbartoszek.com no later than Saturday July 31, 2010 11:00 PM EDT.

So that's a lot, I continue to write articles for examiner.com in the meantime, I am still hard at work collecting brad for the Athena's Cup and was featured in the latest Athena's Video. This entire journey began when I joined Athena's.

I set up a Facebook Fan Page for "Sex is NOT a dirty word" even though it's only the working title for now, but that's OK...

In all my research STILL there is a lot that goes back to how people first learned about sex. I received a survey (which you can still take at www.jeniferbartoszek.com) that was a little different than the rest...

The only respondent who learned about sex from her mother, and while she was given some misinformation and was not taught about masturbation, she was did learn about safe sex and she did not have sex with a partner till she was 23. Said woman is in a committed relationship today.

Think Mom has something to do with it?

Why do people cheat?

Seriously, I have to ask. Why DO people cheat? With all the media obsession of Tiger Woods and Jessie James, is anyone REALLY surprised? Hollywood being a rare breed itself, but people cheat everyday. Rich people, famous people, average people and your next door neighbor. More than likely, YOU know someone who has cheated. You may have even been the cheater yourself.

According to a 2003 study, after reviewing 25 studies of infidelity, renowned psychologist and marital researcher Shirley Glass, author of several books on the subject of infidelity, estimates that “25% of wives and 44% of husbands have committed infidelity.” Those numbers do not reflect emotional affairs. That being said, is cheating limited to sexual intercourse?

They call it foreplay for a reason…

It’s supposed to be enjoyed. Sure there are references to a certain oral act as a ”job” but foreplay should never feel like work. It is the playful acts before the main event. It is the kissing and touching moments, or days, before the big bang, so to speak. Those are the moments that two share intimacy and closeness before moving on to the holy grail of giving and receiving. Sometimes it is a little more primal than that.

There are real benefits to it as well. In fact, most women require twenty minutes of foreplay to produce enough natural lubrication to even have sex.
